Village Person

Village Person ran a huge 2nd in Saturday's race at Saratoga. Village Person was hustled to the front, showed the way under urging, went around the turn in the two-path, was challenged to the inside by the runner-up in the stretch, battled outside that foe into the final furlong and overtaken while just able to get the place.

We spoke with jockey Kendrick Carmouche after the race and Kendrick said, "He ran his eyeballs out today."

We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race and Steve said, "Looking at the fractions he cut today it somewhat set up for the eventual winner. This race was loaded. It might have been the strongest N1X I've ever seen. This stamps him as a legitimate horse. The good news is that we can do whatever we want with him. We have the same race, a New York-bred stake, or any Virginia options at Colonial."

We spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race and Mike said, "I'm completely blown away by this effort. This race was so loaded he went off at 35-1. This horse is the real deal. We're beyond excited to see what's next."

Village Person earned $24,000 for Saturday's race at Saratoga.

Steve will see how Village Person comes out of the race and point him accordingly.
